Sexual Trauma Therapy

Sexual Trauma Therapy

Sexual trauma is devastating. It touches every part of who you are — your body, your mind, your relationships, your sense of safety.

No matter when you experienced it — in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood — you know that healing is not linear or easy. But healing is possible. And you don’t have to do it alone.

I offer a trauma-informed, recovery-centered approach to sexual trauma therapy, grounded in compassion, consent, and your own pace. Together, we will walk the long path toward reclaiming your wholeness — because what was harmed does not define who you truly are.

How Sexual Trauma Can Affect Your Life

Sexual trauma often leaves wounds that ripple through many areas of life, including:

  • Feeling disconnected from your body

  • Struggling with trust, intimacy, or sexual connection

  • Flashbacks, nightmares, or ongoing anxiety

  • Shame, guilt, or self-blame

  • Fear of vulnerability or emotional closeness

  • Difficulty setting boundaries or feeling safe

These responses are not signs of weakness. They are survival responses to deep harm — and they deserve care and attention.

EMDR for Healing Sexual Trauma

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, a proven method for helping people heal from trauma.

EMDR can help your brain and body process memories that feel stuck, allowing you to integrate painful experiences without reliving them. It is a powerful tool for reducing trauma symptoms, restoring a sense of safety, and reclaiming your story.

We will work together to decide whether EMDR, talk therapy, or a combination of approaches feels right for you.

My Approach to Sexual Trauma Therapy

  • Trauma-Informed: Your safety, consent, and autonomy guide every step.

  • Recovery-Centered: We focus on your resilience, not just your pain.

  • Body-Aware: We work gently with both emotional and physical experiences of trauma.

  • Affirming: All identities, sexualities, and experiences are respected and valued here.

You get to set the pace. You get to say "no" at any time. You get to build the life you want moving forward.

Healing Is Possible

It is not naive or foolish to hope for healing. Hope is a radical act of self-trust.

You are not broken. You are not beyond repair. Healing may be slow, but every step matters — and you don’t have to take those steps alone.
